Singles Championships
The Cisk Lager national singles championships will take place in St. George’s Band Club, Qormi, between the 3rd January and 5th March 2024. The championships will include the top forty eight players chosen from different categories as follows:
- Mens – Winners of the first five Ranking Tournaments and the top 24 ranked players at the end of the Ranking Tournaments No. 5
- Under 18’s – Winners of the first two Ranking Tournaments and the top ranked players at the end of Ranking Tournament No. 5
- Under 23’s – Winners of the first two Ranking Tournaments and the top ranked players at the end of Ranking Tournament No. 5
- Over 50’s – Winners of the first five Ranking Tournaments and the top 2 ranked players at the end of the Ranking Tournaments No. 5
- Over 60’s – Winners of the first two Ranking Tournaments and the top ranked players at the end of Ranking Tournament No. 5
All players will be split in eight groups by six players each. The group winners will make it through the last 16 stages while the second and third placed players in each group play in a playoff with the eight winners joining the last 16 stages.
Entry fees for this tournament is Euro 25 per player which has to be settled at the beginning of the tournament. The winner of the championships pockets a price of Euro 1000 and wins a place in the national team that will be representing Malta in the World Championships 2024.
Draws will take place on the 23rd December 2023 at St. George’s Band Club.
